took my first (non-farming) job at a pizza restaurant, back of house, for $4 per hour, under the table, no tips.
that was the correct price for my unskilled labor at the time. because that restaurant owner took a risk to bring me on underaged & far below minimum wage, I was fortunate enough to get my first real work experience & learn discipline, responsibility, punctuality, food service, and many invaluable social lessons early on.
by raising minimum wages in perpetuity states are just pricing out all labor participants whose work is actually valued at less than the state mandated rate on a free market. raising minum wage doesn’t magically allow an employer to afford now more expensive though less productive workers.
value yourself fairly & work hard at learning salable skills & growing & even with inflation & insane taxes you will be able to find productive work in this country & get a leg up.
One of the best things you can do as an employer today is offer to pay people in #Bitcoin. As an employee you should be asking for this or using direct deposit tools like strike to receive & save a percentage of your paycheck in #Bitcoin.
