Try using primal (npub12vk…pugg) to view a trending feed. Also, you can search for hashtags and save your searches as a feed view on your homepage on Primal.
Snort has suggested followers on the Discover tab which might help you find people to connect with.
Once you find people to connect with, you can login as them using their npub to see what their feed looks like and maybe find some new people to follow. I personally just open Snort in an incognito window to login with other npubs sometimes.
