One of my favourite expression in french is: “la culture c’est comme de la confiture, moins on en a plus on l’étale”. And the regional version that I prefer: “Le savoir, c’est comme le beurre d’arachide, moins on en a plus on l’étale”.
Basically means that you can see the ones who don’t know much about a subject coming from a mile away. They’re so eager to show what they know (actually don’t know). I love the analogy with peanut butter or jam. Makes me laugh every time.
