A Call to the Nostr Community
Here is Maya’s story.
Maya is a single mother living in Kenya. Two years ago, she separated from her husband, and recently, she also lost her job. Since then, she and her children have been surviving thanks to the zaps she receives on Nostr.
However, lately, things have become much more difficult. The zaps she receives are no longer enough to cover her essential needs, leaving her in a critical financial situation. Feeling lost, Maya reached out to us in DMs, asking for help.
Unfortunately, the sats we receive are allocated to specific causes, so we couldn’t assist her directly. Instead, we took the time to find a sustainable solution that would help her regain financial stability and independence.
After several discussions, Maya decided to start a small cake business that she can run in her local community. This will not only provide her and her children with a steady income but also allow her to contribute back to the Nostr community in the future.
