I stayed afterschool to clean up massive holiday art project. My room is used by the afterschool club which is mostly 11 and 12 year old boys. There are teenage girls who come volunteer to help.
I'm not sure, because I'm at the sink washing paint brushes, but the boys kept saying the word 'gorgeous' really loudly repeatedly. Someone said 'You look sexy!' twice. They are definitely eager to talk to the teenage volunteers.
There is an woman hired to lead the club but she doesn't seem to notice these remarks.
I think it would be a good idea to squash anything even remotely resembling sexual harassment NOW. It's not okay in adult workplaces and it's not ok at school.
Not totally sure of the place of this afterschool club in the school district bureaucracy. Is my school principal is responsible for it or not? I will try to talk to the club leader but not sure what to do if it gets more serious.
