I heard that interview and all she did was repeat the language *he* was said to have used and asked if he really had said those things.
She was quoting him.
Mind you, I'd have applauded if she *had* sworn at him - "Oh, you fucking liar" - but she didn't.
I don't have much (any) time for the BBC's fawning client journalists but she's usually really good, almost forensic in her approach.
