He had a giant beard (as did most of us, except the women). He left SDC to go elsewhere. When he came back the Prez of SDC asked him to shave his beard (kinda as a joke) and Marv complied. And he promptly grew it back in even greater form.
SDC was kind of an interesting place to work (and I worked there while going to law school.) We knew a bit about the history of the Q7 and Q32 computers that occupied the space where we worked. I once had a tour of our building and was told things like "this room contained the adder" and "this room contained the memory" of the Q7 and Q32 machines.
