Finally after many requests off and on for maybe a year (!) I finally made good old Snickerdoodles. A good munch was had by all. Dug out Mom’s Betty Crocker Picture Cookbook ((1950!) and made it as written but for cream of tartar. Remember that weird ingredient everyone who made cookies in the US had to have solely for THIS recipe? My sister found out it’s not needed and so we leave it out. BTW, how can shortening be sooo expensive these days?
