Twenty four hours from now, ESA’s JUICE spacecraft will be hidden from Earth behind the Moon, heading towards its closest approach to the lunar surface at 700km at 23:16 CEST / 21:16 UTC.
A day later, JUICE will fly past Earth too, in a unique double Lunar-Earth Gravity Assist (LEGA) manoeuvre as part of its 8-year journey to Jupiter.
I’ll be at ESA’s Mission Control, ESOC, in Darmstadt for both, helping process the images – should be fun 🌗🛰️🌍🙂👍
