Currently most #nostr clients use multiple relays for redundancy purposes.
It is however the case that relays decide what kinds of content they wamt to store. So in a future we might need to adapt clients in some way so that the author may easier pick what notes ought to be pushed to what relays. Maybe by having different feeds they post to that habe different relay sets attached to them.
For example, say that a university starts to run a relay for their academics. Then maybe they have some code of conduct for that relay that they'll only store academically related content.
A connected person might then want to be able to cross post all their academics there but their Tropic Thunder memes exclusively on other relays.
I don't know how to do this yet, but it's food for further thought among #nostrdevs
