Department All Hands yesterday. HR has been working on piloting "Digital Assistant". They want *every* employee to have a Digitial Assistant that they consult for everything.
Me: No.
But it will make you more productive!

But it's so cool!
Me: No. Wait. Fuck no.
There are fellow employees who are so steeped in it that they turn on animated AI avatars. I don't even turn on video (except for interviews). Teams doesn't allow you to shut off incoming video for a single user. So it's times like that when I shut off ALL incoming video.
It's not just fake and gay. It's creepy. And often wrong.
Brave Search has it built-in. "Ask Leo". I never trust it. My biggest problem with is that you get zero information on the source of the information. And, of course, they filter/change your prompts. I want the source of any information I read. Without accountability, it's worthless. Also, if you want to prevent things you consider inappropriate, I want the reason why, and name of the *individual* with his contact information so I can ask why. I.e.: I want accountability. "The AI told me" is the new "I heard it on the TV".
And developers of fake and gay AI (properly called LLM...it's not intelligence) will *never* do that. So it will always be useless. So I hope they keep losing money on it. Forever. Until it dies on the vine.
