If they were, I'm sure they'd be presented with many, and some as good or better. A quick search for after effects (your example), would present at least 5 alternatives; Natron, Blender, Nuke, Fusion, Synfig Studio. Of course each will probably require some learning, but not too much if the apps are mostly equivalent. \n\nI agree, ultimately; use what is right for you.",
