I just don't have the patience for most discussion rooms any longer, even on a site like Matrix. It seems that even non-political ones invariably get introduced to some topic that then devolves into the various pearl clutchings about "woke" or having to argue that trans people actually exist and it's not some big plot by elitist eggheads for various nefarious purposes etc. I loved doing that sort of constructive(ish) bantering in my 20s and 30s. Now approaching the half century mark I get to no fucks left to give kind of fast, stating that as such and leaving. So what's the point of joining them in the first place? #rant
