Interesting news for US gardening folks - USDA updated the Plant Hardiness zones to reflect a warming trend.
My zone is one of the ones that shifted. I'm both surprised & not at all surprised. It's been getting steadily warmer & drier in my area for years. This last year has been surreal. Shocking & disorienting. It feels like I've moved somewhere new...except I haven't.
So the zone change comes as no surprise. But it's still jarring to see it reflected in an official guideline.
Makes it a bit too real, y'know?
