The reason so many people post a lot of memes about other's being stupid is because they're lacking confidence in their own intelligence. They want other people to doubt themselves as well. In most cases, they just want to manipulate people. Make them feel less than, make them feel weak, naive, stupid, increase the FUD... once your mental state has been altered, you become even easier to influence. Your behavior will shift as well.
In turn, they may mimic the behavior and try to make other's feel stupid for not thinking like they do.
