I realised I was doing just this (copying config from project to project) with my podman wrapper/config manager. Over the last few days I've been making some changes that cuts out some BS required before you can get a dev container running, which is going well.
Although the more I tinker with this, the more I want to create an all-encompassing containerified build system, but I've only got so much free time.
