Censorship-resistance isn't important to content creators until censorship prevents their content from reaching listeners who enjoy the product enough to want to return value.
I think February will be two years since I got my first LN address (WoS). It's been stressful trying to maintain a functioning wallet, especially since I've never been in love with the layout and features of the Fountain app (Podcast Addict is my favorite, followed by the buggy but lovable Podverse).
I doubt even 10% of regular listeners would devote as much time and energy as I have just to be able to boost their favorite podcasts, and I'm not even one of those savages that runs their own node hardware.
Sometimes I wonder why guys like Peter St Onge still haven't made their podcasts 'boostable' but then I remember we're still extremely early.
In addition to friction, we have those who practice what they preach with respect to "save sats, spend fiat." Those guys aren't gonna donate sats to a podcaster even if it's made easier than dropping a quarter into a parking meter.
In your example, the rss podcast namespace payment splits are a requirement, as the current advertising based podcast industrial complex is built on opposing philosophy; namely knowing as much as possible about the end user of the download.
Cracking the code of easy listener on-boarding to lightning thus requires custodial payment solutions that in turn require kyc
This is the conundrum.
Podcast content creators need to monetize, censorship resistance is not important to them.
