Imagine a heat record in Morocco? That would be bad, right?
Yes. This Friday it was 50.4°C in Agadir on the southern part of Morocco's Atlantic coast.
The most recent time Morocco set a new all time high heat record was... middle of July. A month ago. Then the record level set was 49.9°C.
Essential infrastructure like copper wires used for transformers, cables used for long distance transfer of electricity and electric batteries start failing around 50°C, which means large parts of healthcare, artificial cooling and most sewage treatment fails.
As well as of course rapidly increasing death for vegetation and other lifeforms.
