I'm guessing (if I bothered to look) that Apple had more of the desktop market OS then than they do now.
Kind of moot, I know, since laptops barely existed then. But desktops are still a big market. Now it's Linux slowly coming up to fill the space Microsoft and Apple are leaving behind.
