One thing that eternally annoys me about to-do software is an ontology that doesn't make sense given what I actually need to do. On one hand, I need it to just be like a scratch pad with strings "take out trash." But it should also support files or whole directories for tasks like "finish this research paper."

So, hear me out, you have a to-do folder. Simple things can just be touch "clean stove" and projects could be ln -s Documents/Project-X todo/today/Project-X
