You know another thing I love here, is you can be gone for a day or two, and when you return you are simply back!
No fkn algos punishing you for your absence, what a concept!!

Realizing the subtle relief and how subtly (as well as overtly) damaging those centralized platforms are to the psyche, with that weird pressure (one doesn't even consciously know one feels) to 'show up' just to be seen so you can maintain connection with your follows/followers.

Damn as I write it becomes clearer and clearer. Nostr is like a huge field where you can come and go as you please, and when you return anyone currently in the field will see you stroll by, might stop and chat, say gm gn pv, help you troubleshoot something, dive into deep or playful conversation.

The bluebird app and other sm sites on the other hand, are like controlled buildings where if you leave for too long, or say something the landlords don't like, then upon return you get shoved into a tiny room alone, with a window that controls who & what you see through it, and who can see you.
There are announcements posted on the walls reminding you what language and opinions are 'Allowed Here', but they are blurry so you are never quite sure.
You are also never quite sure what is safe, or how long you can stay away, or which friends will be there when you return and whether you will be allowed to see them.
You felt all this as a strong subtle pressure that you couldn't quite put your finger on, and even when you did, felt helpless to free yourself since you valued your friends in that building, the connections you had made and the wisdom shared.

Ahhh the deep freeing breath of being here on nostr!! ✨💫🪷 Each one here a sovereign being being sovereign, choosing one's path freely, slowly melting the layers of holding and withholding built up in those buildings, tearing down the walls to reveal fields of flowers blooming and blossoming, dam walls crumbling as rivers flow forth once again, weirdness, creativity, collaboration abounding, new friends being made in abundance far and wide, humanity remembering we are all in this together, this earth is our home, all borders are illusions, each choosing our boundaries as we journey onward, sovereign together
