What was the first book you read that enormously impacted you?
The Hobbit. We read it in 5th grade. I was ten.
As an urban kid living in the worst part of NJ, Tolkien's descriptions inspired a life-long love of nature. His stories made me want to be a writer who could inspire the same sort of wonder & enjoyment in others.
