Also I've been looking into open source search engines and apparently there is like none. There used to be one written in Java that you could self host and have it crawl the Internet but its old and not maintained (and its Java ew)
Also there is a open source crawled data repo out there.
I know its not comparable to a big search engine but Its cool to crawl by yourself and discover things, like an adventure.
Someone should make a search engine I can self host.
