I do disagree that the netbook he bought is a good example of the average experience per se though. I'm amazed it's selling so well with a slow dual core CPU in this day and age. (Though, looking it up, it's actually 1.1/2.8, not 1.6GHz.) Though what upsets me even more is the average experience these days is probably more on a phone or tablet than a PC and ironically that may be similar less due to actual hardware and more due to the fact people have so much crap running 24/7 tying up their phone's resources.
