- you can take antivirals (PrEP) which reduce the risk of HIV infection from unprotected sex to nearly zero
- you can get vaccinated against most of the harmful strains of HPV
- vaccination against gonorrhea is probably soon going to happen soon
- you can get tested periodically (and treated) for many STDs
