Research shows that heart attacks are becoming more prevalent among adults younger than 50—and outcomes are worse for women. A study of more than 2,000 young adults admitted for heart attack between 2000 and 2016 in two U.S. hospitals found that 1 in 5 were 40 or younger -- and that proportion of this group has been increasing by 2% each year for last decade. Good news is we know how to prevent them.
