Depends on what you mean with viable. It works, you can use it. If you can direct users there it's also quite usable.
It just doesn't have any significant "side traffic" (aka users discovering your content through it).
If you'd like users to find your VOD content first instead of e.g. being forwarded from you in your streams (like gronkh (npub195a…pdhv) does with his own archiving website gronkh.tv) then you need to stick with youtube...
