I don't think it'll ever sit well with me that we straight up argued "typeof will encourage low-level code that forces people to make mistakes". Like I didn't even respond well because it was such a baffling fucking assertion. I also couldn't even get my brain to realize that people were taking "typeof is hard to teach" as, like, a serious argument. I don't think I've ever been this discombobulated by an actual veteran C++ person just trying to do their damnedest to shit on C.
