The time-ship is parked at a ice and rock moon in Saturn's orbit. And there's a reason for that: it can use those materials as fuel for an emergency weapon. It can trigger a chain reaction and turn that moon into "a micro super nova". Why? What for? Who knows. It also gives the Engineer some sights that reminds him of his home world…
