The 1959 Cadillac was famous for having the tallest tailfins of the era,The heaviest of the range was the Fleetwood 75 Sedan. A 20ft limousine with seating for 9(!), powered by an iron-block 6.3l pushrod V8, on a separate chassis and with 12in drums. It was designed without any of the computer tools available today and used no new materials or any of the innovations of the last 65 years. And yet, at 2.5 tons, it still weighed 200kg less than the shorter, seven-seat Cadillac Escalade of 2024.
