My thoughts on #Threads later joining the Fediverse are largely very positive.
User base wise it's close to 70m already -- it's got entire new communities who were stuck elsewhere before, and will now become followable and interactable with.
They plan to support account migration from Threads to Mastodon, so in use cases where people won't be welcome there (e.g. sex workers), they can port their accounts to fediverse instances.
There's a lot of net positives.
