The group sounds insufferable. I would stand strong with the ghosting unless you have reason to believe that this friend is reaching out because he, too, is trying to escape the group (including his wife?). More likely, though, if he is just 'concerned about you,' I would be suspicious of the concerns of people who think the way this group apparently does
