Yeah, that would be an unfortunate casualty. It sounds like what they're using isn't very intense, but I could see it damaging the lichen, especially if they are already struggling with a changing climate.
That said, if they are inevitably going to die off due to climate change, losing some earlier is a drop in the bucket.
