This lesson has been one of the more disappointing I've experienced in dissident politics: a lot of the people who talk a good story are just parrots, and are equally willing to parrot any nonsense with emotional appeal.
I don't know how to deal with these people, because they also find it emotionally appealing to practice invincible stupidity, to constantly double down on being wrong as some kind of own, to circle the wagons if they have enough mouth-breathers bought into the same wrong idea, etc.
