Fuck's sake.
I figured out what was making the Sentinel 65X prototype crash *sometimes* when you start it up.
The VERA isn't futzing with the bus at boot time. It's just drawing as much power as it needs.
This is not a problem -- unless your AC adapter is inadequate. It was pulling *just* enough to *sometimes* make the CPU go fucky.
I proved this by removing the delays and replacing the 9V 1A adapter with a big honking 12V 5A one from a dead 3D printer, which is way beyond what the regulators can even draw. No more crashes.
Lesson learned I guess -- you probably want more than 9V 1A -- say 9V 2A would probably be fine, but I'll need to test a variety of adapters to confirm that.
