* first I downloaded the patch.
* then I downloaded the super mario world rom
* then I downloaded the patcher exe
* there is no patcher for macos or linux so I had to open it in wine
* the patcher was confusing and impossible to use, so I used the web patcher
* it complained the super mario world rom was wrong checksum. it told me the right checksum
* so I found and downloaded it
* patched the rom
* doesn't play in snes9x
* doesn't play in openemu
* install snes9x in wine, still doesn't open but it tells me the checksum is wrong
* it turns out the rom site with four different verification hashes didn't check the fucking hashes and the rom file was corrupted
* I downloaded an uncorrupted rom and verified checksum
* patched again
* opens in openemu, but no sound
* join the discord to read the fucking FAQ
* faq says I named the file wrong, the patcher named the file wrong, thanks a lot
* I fix the filename, it still doesn't work
* check faq again, turns out openemu uses too old version of snes9x
* download newer snes9x
* doesn't run because of macos security
* bypass macos security
* now I have sound
* now I am too tired to play the game
