Your thoughts echo my own experience. My ex-wife and I were together constantly for years and it was suffocating. My girlfriend of 3 years and i live apart, own our own homes, have our own social circles. But when we are together, we are our best selves. We uplift and support one another.
I'm also an introvert, and work alone. But I own five acres, so there is always something to do on the property. That replaces a lot of need to socialize for me. I love my lifestyle. Something for you to consider, if you like gardening, homesteading, etc.
