thank you for the thoughtful response, and I’m sorry I used a complaining tone. I could have simply thanked you for posting on the topic and added the link to the account here on Mastodon. I forgot that the accumulation of many tiny aggressions for someone who has a large audience can result in a vastly different (and more negative) experience. Again- I’m sorry for that.

I’ve thought a bit about your question - why do I care? Is my preference important? And why should you care? Introspectively, I *do* care about the success of open, federated social media. For me that means open-protocol based server-to-server federation, not just tools that make it easier for client applications to cross-post. The work that you and others did to make RSS successful was instrumental in systems I've built in the past - and I want that same level of success for social media networks like Mastodon.
