Pig’s ear has been spreading across Banks Peninsula for many decades now. Back in 2009, I had a Masters student, Kirsty Nghidinwa, study it here and in her home country of Namibia.
Some have been trying to slow it, others not. I expect it’s now at the steep part of its exponential spread, and more people are taking notice. It’s got to be too late to stop now, short of biological control.
