no I tercapital services for sure. XPT is 1980s. They Sydney-Canberra Xplorers are 1990s. Intrastate is better. The TiltTrain runs at 160kmh in QLD and is also electric. Prospector in WA in diesel and is limited to 160 but rated for 180 or maybe even 200? Both from the 90s and 00s.

Using the TiltTrain design for a mid speed high frequency Sydney-Canberra service on mostly existing but upgraded track with one major deviation around the Picton area to cut out tight curves and steep sections could get you down to a 2 hr or even less journey time if the upgrades were meaningful. Run an hourly or half hourly service and you'd essentially replace the air link completely.
