I would like to know your opinion on this. Why would it be best if newspapers didn't do endorsements at all?
My thinking is that if it is patently obvious from the facts at hand who is the better (or worse!) choice what harm is there in taking a stance and publishing it?
I ask this as someone who has never had to weigh the value or harm of my voice to the public at large as my voice has never had that reach.
