Kotlin (in a vacuum) is pretty nice I think, the problem comes with the JVM-experience hires who have terminal java brainrot and will spread it all over
Elixir is a very different paradigm, while kotlin might be nice it won't scratch that itch once you've switched your mind to the elixir way of doing things
