My problem is it is 1957 UK, so homosexuality between men is still illegal, so coming out is a high risk, although Peter is open about it among good friends. But he is traumatized because he was imprisoned for being gay in Nazi Germany so he has a lot of other issues as well. And Ian always thought he was not normal for not wanting to kiss and have sex. It is... complicated. I wish them happiness and finding a way to be happy together.
