Bit of both. For most writing I like fairly typical blues/blurples. Diamine Sapphire Blue, Pilot Iroshizuku Kon-Peki, Monteverde Permanent Blue, Private Reserve Tropical Blue. Throw in some color for denoting good/bad/caution like Diamine Apple Glory, PI Momiji, PI Fuyu-Gaki.
But for headers and more fun stuff I deviate a bit, shimmer/sheen inks (Golden Sands, Cobalt Jazz, Candy Sea), or less standard things like Ancient Copper, Yama-Budo, or Writer's Blood.
