So, RFKJR being put in a position to destroy public health in the US has me thinking about a typically American invention: snake oil.
Today, things called snake oil are usually scams designed to trick gullible people to waste money on useless or even harmful things: homeopathic remedies, anti mind control supplements, bitcoin, etc.
However, the reason why we associate snake oil with scams is because American hucksters back in the day were caught selling fake snake oil.
