"ISIS" is in no way or form a true representation of Islam, but you will find the BBC (and others) legitimize that claim by referring to them as a "caliphate", and an "Islamic state". It is subtle, intentional or unintentional - I don't know. Regardless their actions effectively paint nothing more than a terrorist group as a true form of Islam in the minds of many.
