i don't often get the desire to write something long form but i think i'm gonna have to start scheduling an hour a day to sit down with my Books of Enoch and start assembling a collection of notes, indeed, the text really needs to be input as well, so i can build the quotations out of it
reading it last night before bedtime made me realise what an extremely fascinating and little known and poorly reputed collection of writings it is
the edition i have is 3 versions, there is the one from the Ethiopian Orthodox, another, i forget where it's from, and a third that is part of some Jewish canon
what is remarkable about the text is how straight forward he seems to be describing having contact with the Angels as though they were like men in most ways
if you read Genesis with this thought in mind, you also see repeatedly this motif of angels appearing as though they are humans, very often it mentions that they are dressed in disguise
some of the things that i read in chapter 18-21 were pretty mind blowing really, talking about the citadel of the head of the angels and the amazing construction of the building, the visit to three, presumably separate locations with 7 mountains and one of them being ascendant over the others, it does not name it exactly but one matches the descriptions of Tartarus, where Enoch is told that the fallen angels are imprisoned for 10,000 years
there is so many pieces to it, and i also have some further help with this as The Apocalypse of Yajnavalkya pieces together some attempt to name the locations that some of these chapters indicate, and i know that one is Mu (indonesia) and another is India, from memory as Mu has the strange animals and India has the Tree of Knowledge
