In Poland, women are dying due to the near-total ban on abortion. In Malta, women face prison for having an abortion. Even in countries where abortion is legal, it is often inaccessible—73% of gynecologists in Italy and more than 50% in Croatia refuse to perform the procedure. In many places, abortion care is not free, putting unnecessary stress and pressure on individuals.
