I checked and it's true. The charts and other BS show "february" as the maximum ice extent but it is true that in march of 2024 it was at 15.14 million km^2 and prior to that 2002 had more, the rest had less.
When i look at the graph of sea ice extents i gotta ask: What about before 1979? Oh right, we weren't measuring it, or couldn't. So what possible purpose could freaking out about a graph going down less than 6.5% serve?
As an aside, the gov sucks at open data. badly.
