i found a wasp nest as big as a basketball in a tree in the backyard. i squirted my hose at it until a wasp landed my leg and then i ran like the wind (probably making cowardly noises). my surrender must have been painful to watch. it was nice having a backyard, while it lasted, but for now, it belongs to the bees.
